So for now, maybe it's best to have a warm-up and think about something like Tech Tree Extension Project because that's one element that is surely required? Ideally, it would compress (visually) the trees that are already in the game and add later-game branches that would be compatible in the amount of detail with the core game (so that the 1936-1992 tree doesn't become a multi-page monstrosity). An alternate history Total Conversion by the Inventorum Development Team I suppose the game would need a couple of patches anyway to arrive at semi-historical outcomes of WW2 so at first the mod could concentrate on 1945 scenario only, with no option of 1936-1992 playthrough. And the war resolutions events is not a first-priority thing. The mod would surely need a new tech/focus tree and end of war event chains but they would have to be completely different from what HoI2/DH had. And it may be a good thing because they added some flavor for the cost of tons of work. A lot of material (database for ministers, leaders, election events) would be redundant. Realistically speaking I don't think I'll be doing full HoI4 port of NWO anytime soon, neither as another one-man task or say, lead developer, to initiate some bigger project.įrom what I already gathered, there's not really much to "port" to the new game.
